Embedded Software Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, integrate, and deploy software for flight systems and mission-critical applications.
• Build reliable autonomous software and simulations to validate system precision and dependability.
• Debug hardware and software integrations across virtualized hardware, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle-in-the-loop environments.
• Collaborate with software and hardware engineers on guidance algorithms and integrated seeker image processing.
• Lead major engineering projects and occasionally travel to launch and customer sites for testing and operations.
• Improve software standards, development practices, and testing capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, a related STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on technical experience through professional work, internships, research, open-source contributions, or similar projects; candidates at all experience levels are considered.
• Experience with systems programming in C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments and low-level systems such as kernels, hardware interfaces, or drivers.
• Familiarity with embedded or distributed systems, computer architecture, networking protocols, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing.
• Access to export-controlled information may require U.S. Government authorization, security clearance, or applicable citizenship and eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time embedded systems and Linux-based C++ software for PowerPC, x86, ARM, or microcontrollers.
• Proficiency with Bash, network troubleshooting, strace, ftrace, and performance analysis.
• Experience developing prototypes to validate designs and quantify technical constraints.
