Engineer, Powerplant (Aerospace)

Location: Carmel, United States; onsite role with work in aircraft hangars

What you will do

• Manage the life cycle, operational health, and cost structure of assigned fleet powerplants.
• Review powerplant removals and create, review, and approve shop visits and repair or overhaul work scopes.
• Provide engineering support for line and heavy maintenance, including repair authorizations, parts substitutions, repairs, and technical reports.
• Review Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins and develop engineering data for required modifications.
• Maintain and optimize the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program and resolve reliability issues.
• Minimize powerplant-related costs and aircraft out-of-service time while supporting other departments on commercial matters.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Maintenance, or a related technical field with an emphasis on powerplant theory, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 3 years of line or heavy aircraft maintenance experience in an engineering or technical services department.
• Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 121, 145, and 25.
• Experience with powerplant life cycle management, technical work scope evaluation, and cost management.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, night shifts, and overtime as required, with travel of up to 25% including overnight stays.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance or Technology with an emphasis on Powerplant.
• Training in Six Sigma or Lean processes.
