TL;DR
Engineering Technician II (Aerospace): Maintaining, repairing, and testing valves and pressure-system components at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center with an accent on mechanical component servicing, high-pressure and cryogenic systems, and formal quality procedures. Focus on disassembling and reassembling complex valves, performing hydrostatic and pneumatic tests, interpreting schematics, and documenting repair work.
Location: Onsite in Huntsville, Alabama, at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center on Redstone Arsenal. First shift, 4x10 schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required.

What you will do
- Disassemble, clean, reassemble, repair, and test valves, regulators, gauges, pumps, and other pressure-system components.
- Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing in high-pressure, hydraulic, and cryogenic environments.
- Read and interpret schematics and follow MSFC quality procedures, ASME, API, National Board, and manufacturer standards.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment in industrial and laboratory settings.
- Document servicing, repairs, and test results in the Work Management Computer system using Windows.
- Coordinate task updates with management and coworkers while managing multiple active assignments.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Public Trust clearance required.
- High school diploma or GED and at least one year of directly related engineering technician experience.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of mechanical components, including valves, regulators, gauges, or pumps.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work onsite on the required first-shift schedule.
Nice to have
- Trade school training or an associate degree in aerospace or an industrial field.
- Experience with pressure-system operations at NASA or another aerospace organization.
- Familiarity with NBIC repairs and clean-room operations.
