2027 Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Internship (Data Engineering/Software Engineering)

Location: South San Francisco, California, US; remote listed, with an 11-week onsite internship and placements primarily in Lake County, Illinois or other U.S. AbbVie and Allergan Aesthetics locations.

Salary: $21–$37 per hour

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and maintain enterprise applications across front-end, back-end, and full-stack components.
• Develop responsive user interfaces and backend services, APIs, microservices, workflows, and data pipelines.
• Build, maintain, and optimize databases and data infrastructure.
• Integrate data sources and support efficient, secure data collection, processing, and storage.
• Develop technology solutions that address scientific and business questions through programming, data integration, warehousing, visualization, and analysis.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, or a related major with a relevant minor or concentration.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Must be enrolled in university during the semester following the internship and graduate within one year after the internship.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
• Must be able to complete an 11-week onsite internship in the United States; placement depends on business need.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, Python, R, SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML, APEX, or Spring Boot.
• Experience with APIs, large language models, machine learning algorithms, data integration, or data visualization.
• Public code portfolio, previous internship experience, and strong analytical, communication, leadership, teamwork, and project management skills.
