Software Systems Engineer / Integrator

Location: Groton, Connecticut, United States; fully on-site. U.S. citizenship is required, and eligibility for access to classified information is required.

Salary: USD $77,843–$86,358 per year

What you will do

• Design, configure, and integrate secure software solutions for U.S. Navy surface ship systems.
• Package, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Zarf and related orchestration frameworks.
• Develop Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD automation for integration, deployment, and system administration.
• Perform manual testing, debugging, validation, and defect tracking in production-like laboratory environments.
• Create technical documentation, integration reports, metrics dashboards, and system configuration records.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and customer stakeholders using Agile practices, Jira, and Confluence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for access to classified information are required.
• Foundational understanding of software integration and systems engineering concepts.
• Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server environments, scripting, automation, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to document technical processes and test results clearly and communicate professionally.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, troubleshooting, and Agile collaboration.

Nice to have

• Department of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of hire.
• Experience with VMware or Proxmox virtual machines.
• Familiarity with Java, Vue, .NET MAUI, Go, or HTML.
• CompTIA Security+ certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Experience applying AI tools to engineering, testing, integration, and DevSecOps workflows.
