IDCS Systems Engineer (Linux/Networking)

Location: On-site at the Piscataway, NJ facility, United States. Monday through Friday, with a preferred schedule of 11:00 AM–8:00 PM or 7:00 AM–4:00 PM. Work-related travel may be required up to 15%.

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Install, configure, validate, and troubleshoot data center hardware and software.
• Maintain infrastructure, networking, and automation environments, including connectivity troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain Bash, PowerShell, Python, and similar scripts for hardware configuration, verification, and system automation.
• Create automated build procedures and documented processes for prototypes, first-article builds, and production environments.
• Diagnose complex hardware and software issues, improve operational support systems, and escalate issues when needed.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Quality Control teams on integration requirements, timelines, and delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, Tier 2/Tier 3 IT support, or related work.
• Strong scripting and programming skills with PowerShell, Bash, and Python, including debugging and maintenance.
• Advanced networking knowledge covering OSI layers, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and routing.
• Extensive experience with data center servers, storage, networking infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls, and other appliances.
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems, BIOS firmware, device drivers, and CLI-based environments.
• Ability to work on-site at the Piscataway, NJ facility, work flexible hours, and move or lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with xCAT, Ansible, Chef, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs.
• RHCE, CCNA, VCP, or other technology-related certifications.
