Senior Fullstack Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; applications are currently accepted from California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Salary: $170,000–$240,000 per year plus meaningful equity.

What you will do

• Build and ship features across mobile apps using Vue, TypeScript, and Capacitor.
• Develop scalable backend systems with Python, Flask, Postgres, Redis, and AWS.
• Contribute to architecture, technical direction, design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Partner with Product and Design to turn ambiguous problems into iterative, shippable solutions.
• Balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Work across product surfaces serving millions of users accessing food, healthcare, and financial support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining complex full-stack systems.
• Fluency in Python and JavaScript, or willingness to ramp up quickly.
• Strong system design and product engineering fundamentals.
• Experience working in startup or high-ambiguity environments.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with ownership, ambiguity, rapid iteration, strong judgment, and cross-functional product collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience building consumer-scale applications.
• Familiarity with safety-net programs such as SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, or Section 8.
