Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with three days of in-office collaboration and two optional at-home focus days

What you will do

• Design and develop efficient, scalable marketplace solutions and supplier infrastructure.
• Work with engineers, designers, analysts, product managers, and data specialists in cross-functional mission teams.
• Design, launch, and iterate on A/B experiments to improve customer learning and product outcomes.
• Maintain code quality and continuously improve systems, processes, and engineering standards.
• Contribute to the team roadmap and long-term strategy.
• Mentor team members and participate in hiring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• High proficiency in Java and expertise in web application development with component-based frameworks.
• Experience designing application architecture and deploying web applications and services.
• Experience writing tests and delivering fast, reliable, maintainable code.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Availability for the hybrid Berlin working arrangement with three days in the office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node.js, Vue.js, or similar frontend frameworks and libraries.
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics.
• Prior experience in e-commerce or startup environments.
