Senior Data & Backend Software Engineer (Aerospace) (Python/Java/C#/Rust): Building scalable systems, data services, APIs, pipelines, and data products that ingest, process, store, and serve flight and engineering data with an accent on batch and streaming processing, time-series analysis, and reliable data architecture. Focus on designing robust ETL/ELT workflows, optimizing large-scale analytical datasets, implementing observability, and enabling data-driven decisions across engineering and operations.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and operate scalable systems for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving engineering and flight data.
- Build data services, APIs, pipelines, and data products for engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Define reliable data ingestion, processing, storage, and access patterns across batch and streaming workloads.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes, data validation, monitoring, and governance to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Contribute to data architecture, modeling, analytical storage, observability, and platform operations.
- Document technical solutions and guide less experienced engineers while collaborating across disciplines.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience with C#, Java, Rust, or Python.
- Degree in software engineering, computer science, data science, or a similar field.
- Experience with batch and streaming data processing, time-series data, large-scale datasets, and DataFrame-based processing.
- Understanding of Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and Medallion Architecture patterns, with practical experience using Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, event-driven architectures, modern data platforms, OLAP databases or TSDBs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Protobuf, Parquet, Arrow, Zarr, Arrow Flight, observability, monitoring, telemetry, testing, and automation.
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale engineering, manufacturing, or telemetry datasets.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or Apache Flink.
