Lead Backend Engineer - Project Delivery Add-ons (all genders) (PHP/Laravel)

SCAYLE is an enterprise commerce platform that enables brands and retailers to build direct-to-consumer businesses. The Add-on Unit develops modular, plug-and-play e-commerce solutions that extend the SCAYLE commerce engine.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture of modular add-ons across backend, frontend, and integrations.
• Design and implement advanced Laravel backend logic, queues, events, and database schemas for high-traffic e-commerce environments.
• Oversee Vue.js 3 frontend integration in a SingleSpa micro-frontend setup.
• Lead CI/CD, semantic versioning, Docker-based environments, and stable release processes.
• Ensure production reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and AWS environments.
• Act as technical lead, review code, mentor engineers, and drive AI-assisted and agentic coding practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building, scaling, and operating complex fullstack web applications in production.
• Expert proficiency in PHP 8.x and Laravel, including middleware, queues, events, gates, and policies.
• Strong frontend development experience; Vue.js 3, TypeScript, and Pinia experience are valuable.
• Deep expertise in secure, multi-tenant, distributed system architecture and maintainable software design.
• Advanced MySQL/RDS, schema design, indexing, Redis caching, Docker, CI/CD, AWS, and monitoring experience.
• Strong technical leadership, mentoring, code review, problem decomposition, and hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
