Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Aurora, Colorado, United States; on-site. Travel up to 10% of the time. Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required at the time of application. U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring government clearance.

Salary: $91,800–$137,600 annually for the primary level; $114,000–$171,000 annually for the secondary level.

What you will do

• Develop new software and provide operational support on an agile development team.
• Design, develop, and troubleshoot object-oriented Java applications.
• Build and support microservice, event-driven architectures using Docker containers and Kubernetes.
• Configure container networking and manage containerized environments with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Support software system integration, testing, automation, and deployment.
• Collaborate across teams working on intelligence ground-station programs and related mission systems.

Requirements

• For Level 2: a bachelor’s degree in science with 2+ years of software development experience, a master’s degree with 0+ years, or equivalent additional experience.
• For Level 3: a bachelor’s degree in science with 5+ years of software development experience, a master’s degree with 3+ years, or equivalent additional experience.
• Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required at the time of application.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Vue, Git, Agile, Elasticsearch, and Maven.
• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, container networking, branching, merging, and resolving Git merge conflicts.
• U.S. citizenship is required for government-clearance positions.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Jenkins and GitLab.
• Experience with software integration, testing, deployment, and automation.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to learn new technical concepts, libraries, and APIs quickly.
