Software Engineer (Java)

Location: On-site in Aurora, Colorado, United States; travel required for 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.

Salary: $142,200–$213,400 per year

What you will do

• Develop new software and provide operational support within an agile development team.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot object-oriented Java applications.
• Build and support microservice, event-driven architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure container networking and manage Docker-based environments.
• Contribute to software integration, testing, deployment, and automation.
• Collaborate across programs and teams supporting intelligence ground-station capabilities.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience: a bachelor’s degree in science with 8+ years of software development experience, a master’s degree with 6+ years, or additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required at the time of application.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Vue, Elasticsearch, Maven, Git, and Agile development.
• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, container management, and container networking.
• Comfort with Git branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts.
• U.S. citizenship is required for positions involving government clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
• Experience with software system integration, testing, deployment, and automation.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to quickly learn new technical concepts, libraries, and APIs.
