Senior Software Developer (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada, with approximately three days per week onsite

Salary: CAD 120,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance secure, reliable, and scalable features for patient engagement and eReferral products.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from solution design through implementation, testing, and delivery.
• Lead technical and architectural discussions for initiatives spanning multiple sprints or months.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and developers during three-week Agile sprints, including planning, stand-ups, code reviews, and testing.
• Mentor developers, unblock teammates, and help shape technical direction through influence and shared ownership.
• Use monthly learning days to investigate engineering challenges, explore technologies, and share knowledge.

Requirements

• Experience building and delivering scalable, production-ready software across the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong object-oriented programming fundamentals and experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience with modern web technologies, including JavaScript and Vue.js.
• Ability to design maintainable, secure, scalable solutions and evaluate architectural trade-offs.
• Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring developers, and collaborating with Product Managers.
• Experience with Agile development practices; MongoDB experience is useful for making an immediate impact.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare technology, electronic medical records, regulated SaaS products, or MongoDB.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
