Staff Fullstack Engineer (AI Acceleration)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 160,000–220,000 annual base salary, plus potential equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define authorization models for AI agent actions and enforce least-privilege access.
• Build phishing-resistant authentication and authorization for people and AI agents.
• Shape product outcomes by investigating customer needs and defining solutions.
• Drive architecture for scalable distributed systems and complex API integrations.
• Advance AI-assisted development practices across design, review, and delivery.
• Improve engineering excellence through CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, support, and coaching.

Requirements

• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments.
• Advanced proficiency applying AI tools across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs.
• Strong understanding of web authentication, authorization, and sensitive data security.
• Deep expertise in Java or another type-safe language, plus strong JavaScript/TypeScript fullstack skills.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale services on AWS.

Nice to have

• Experience in a zero-to-one or startup-like team.
• Leadership in AI adoption, developer tooling, or organizational change.
• Experience developing Identity and Access Management tooling.
