French Linguist / Translator - 32h Part Time (Remote) - Gaming

Location: Fully remote within Portugal; working hours are 9:00–18:00 Portugal business hours.

What you will do

• Translate in-game text, UI, legally relevant materials, and supporting content according to client guidelines and established terminology.
• Review and edit translations for accuracy, consistency, natural flow, tone, and cultural relevance to the French market.
• Create and maintain glossaries, style guides, and character profiles for creative localization projects.
• Identify and resolve localization issues, review feedback, and bugs discovered during testing.
• Use CAT and project management tools such as memoQ and JIRA to track work and maintain workflow visibility.
• Collaborate with translators and clients, support onboarding and candidate test evaluations, and meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Must be located within Portugal.
• Exceptional proficiency in French and English, with strong understanding of the French market.
• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services; game localization experience is preferred.
• Experience with CAT tools such as memoQ, Trados, XTM, and client-specific systems, plus workflow platforms such as JIRA or Plunet.
• Excellent linguistic accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines while following confidentiality, GDPR, ISO quality, and company policies.
