Translation Account Manager (Freelance, Outdoor Sports)

Location: Fully remote within CET, GMT, or EEST time zones; availability during the agreed working window is required.

What you will do

• Take strategic ownership of localization accounts, overseeing performance, health, and long-term development.
• Identify inefficiencies and improve or scale localization processes, workflows, and systems.
• Guide and support project managers, coordinating stakeholders and handling complex operational issues or client escalations.
• Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities to improve and grow accounts.
• Define and improve account-level localization infrastructure, including TMS setups, translation memories, terminology, style guides, and QA processes.
• Contribute to automation and AI-supported localization workflows and solve complex operational challenges.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in localization, translation account management, or localization program management.
• Strong background in translation or localization project management, preferably in an agency or complex in-house environment.
• Strong understanding of localization workflows, TMSs, and supporting technologies.
• Experience improving localization processes, systems, operations, automation, QA frameworks, terminology management, or resource models.
• High proficiency in English and at least one additional language.
• Genuine interest in and familiarity with outdoor or action sports; highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently.

• Experience with Phrase TMS.
