Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Location: Belvidere, Illinois, USA; onsite at an assigned manufacturing facility

Salary: $108,500–$167,200 USD per year, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day environmental, health, and safety functions and implement the facility safety program.
• Lead hazardous waste reduction, recycling initiatives, industrial hygiene sampling, SDS and Hazard Communication programs.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, Wisconsin DNR, DOT, and local environmental and safety regulations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, job safety analyses, ergonomic assessments, and safety observations.
• Investigate injuries, property damage, near misses, releases, and other incidents, then direct corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead EHS training, safety committees, strategic initiatives, and the facility's Drive to Zero program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive EHS experience and 3 years of experience implementing safety-related programs.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Wisconsin DNR, DOT, local regulations, safety equipment, and relevant standards.
• Experience with environmental and safety compliance planning, training, inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping.
• Ability to perform ergonomic analysis, influence cross-functional stakeholders, manage shifting priorities, and present to executive audiences.
• Ability to work onsite in Belvidere, Illinois, including physical work in a manufacturing environment and compliance with facility PPE requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in business administration, engineering, or an EHS-related field.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of waste management regulations.
• Experience with lean principles, SAP or equivalent ERP systems, FTZ/security requirements, and environmental reporting.
• CHMM, CSP, CIH, or PE certification.
