Backend Developer (PHP)

What you will do

• Design and build backend services in PHP and TypeScript/Node, owning features end-to-end from data model to API.
• Design asynchronous, event-driven systems and resilient architectures using message queues, dead-letter queues, and retry policies.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries including multi-table joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions.
• Operate services on AWS including ECS, ECR, SQS, SES, S3, CloudWatch, EC2, RDS, and ElastiCache with monitoring and observability.
• Contribute across the stack including TypeScript backend and Nuxt 3 / Vue 3 frontend.

Requirements

• Location: Hamburg, Berlin, or Remote
• Solid PHP experience; experience with Laravel or Symfony is welcome.
• JavaScript / TypeScript experience, preferably TypeScript.
• Strong SQL skills with complex joins, aggregations, CTEs, and performance-aware querying.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
• Experience designing asynchronous/event-driven systems.
