Developer / Senior Developer - Mainframe

Location: Hybrid role based at the Leicestershire Head Office, United Kingdom

A large UK retail and e-commerce business operating across more than 72 countries, with a £2 billion payments and credit platform.

What you will do

• Develop and support gift card systems and other mainframe applications.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies.
• Analyse requirements and provide programming expertise for sustainable, efficient solutions.
• Design, code, maintain, and support business-critical systems operating 24/7, 365 days a year.
• Develop in batch and online environments while working with user communities and providing technical and non-technical guidance.

Requirements

• Proven commercial experience in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with COBOL or CICS COBOL, ADABAS, NATURAL, DB2, SQL, and JCL.
• Ability to analyse user requirements and deliver reliable production systems.
• Ability to work from the Leicestershire Head Office in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with zOS Connect, WebSphere MQ, SOAP or REST APIs, XML, and JSON.
• .NET development experience.
• Microsoft Azure DevOps, TFS, or Endevor experience.
