Senior Backend Engineer (PHP)

Location: Remote within Germany

hirify.global develops e-commerce software for online retail, including ERP systems, shops, and marketplace integrations, serving more than 50,000 customers.

What you will do

• Build and evolve backend systems primarily with native PHP and Symfony, with occasional frontend development.
• Develop and rework processes for handling and delivering large volumes of data.
• Design scalable architectures and solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
• Build and plan integrations between Amazon, eBay, new marketplaces, and the hirify.global-Wawi ERP system.
• Ensure quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
• Shape customer-focused product features and provide technical support for customer systems.

Requirements

• Excellent object-oriented PHP skills.
• Experience processing large volumes of data with MySQL and/or MongoDB.
• Experience with APIs and documenting them using the OpenAPI Specification.
• Regular use of unit and/or integration tests and strong Git skills.
• Ability to work independently, coordinate effectively within a team, and handle complex, high-traffic systems with billions of records.
• Must be based in Germany.

• Experience in or strong interest in e-commerce.
