Desktop Engineer (Electron)

What you will do

• Build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications with Electron.
• Design responsive, scalable interfaces for real-time collaboration.
• Implement file system access, native notifications, auto-updates, and deep linking.
• Integrate chat, agents, and AI assistance through backend APIs.
• Optimize startup time, memory usage, runtime performance, and Electron overhead.
• Manage local state and message history while ensuring smooth real-time updates and stability on macOS and Windows.

Requirements

• Professional software engineering experience and hands-on experience building production Electron applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with React or a similar UI framework.
• Understanding of the desktop application lifecycle, IPC communication, and native macOS or Windows behavior.
• Experience with local storage such as SQLite, IndexedDB, or filesystem storage.
• Experience with WebSockets or other real-time transport mechanisms, plus strong debugging and performance-profiling skills.
