Head Business Operations UKI & MEA (Reinsurance)

Location: Folkestone, United Kingdom; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.

Salary: £112,000–£168,000 base salary per year, plus performance-based variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead Technical Accounting Processing and Sales Operations services for the UKI & MEA region.
• Oversee treaty operations from onboarding and quote stage through accounting, cash management and treaty closure.
• Build partnerships with Market Units, Finance, Actuarial and the wider reinsurance value chain.
• Use operational data and early insights to identify risks, opportunities and improvement priorities.
• Lead a multi-team operations unit, developing Team Leaders, Managers and Experts and maintaining strong governance.
• Drive cross-functional transformation, process simplification, operational resilience and execution of group-wide priorities.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in shared services, accounting, operations or a comparable environment at regional or global scale.
• Solid managerial experience leading complex operations across multiple teams, Team Leaders and Managers in different locations.
• Strong data literacy and experience applying data-processing techniques to improve processes and operational performance.
• Fluent English is essential.
• Commercial awareness, strategic thinking and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Nice to have

• Experience in Life & Health reinsurance or a comparable insurance environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional transformation and embedding new operating models.
• Additional languages relevant to the UKI & MEA region.
• Experience contributing to group-wide strategy and developing leadership pipelines.
• Experience in a dynamic, international and matrixed organisation.
