Managing Director, Commercial Banking, Scotland

What you will do

• Set and execute the integrated commercial banking strategy across SME, Business Banking and Mid Market clients with turnover up to £500m.
• Lead regional financial performance, including income growth, profitability, deposits, lending, balance sheet and cost discipline.
• Build relationships with major clients, government bodies, regulators, industry organisations and strategic partners.
• Maintain accountability for client outcomes, credit quality, risk management, conduct and regulatory governance.
• Lead, coach and develop senior leaders and geographically dispersed relationship teams while building succession capability.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Technology, Finance, Marketing and Operations teams to deliver regional and potential national sector growth.

Requirements

• Significant executive leadership experience at enterprise, national or large regional level.
• Proven success delivering commercial growth and leading complex banking or financial services businesses.
• Experience managing significant P&L, balance sheet and cost accountability.
• Deep knowledge of SME, Mid Market and Commercial Banking markets, sector economics and competitive landscapes.
• Experience engaging with government, regulators, trade bodies and senior external stakeholders.
• Strong experience in regulated environments, credit and risk judgement, sales effectiveness and performance management.

Nice to have

• Experience in media engagement, public relations, thought leadership or investor-style messaging.
• Sector expertise in Food & Drink Production.
