Product Technologist - Footwear & Accessories (Retail)

Location: Typically four days per week in the offices at Alfred Place, London, and The Barn, Market Harborough, United Kingdom. Core hours are flexible between 8am and 6pm.

What you will do

• Develop footwear and accessory products from concept through production across The Set and Licensed Brands.
• Provide technical direction through the critical path, including sample reviews, fit and comfort assessments, and construction, material, and manufacturing checks.
• Ensure products meet quality, safety, testing, legislative, performance, and value requirements.
• Manage supplier performance and build relationships that improve technical capability, consistency, and product quality.
• Review customer feedback, returns, and in-season performance data to drive product improvements and reduce returns.
• Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer value.

Requirements

• Essential experience in footwear product technology, particularly children's footwear.
• Strong understanding of fit, comfort, construction, testing, and legislative requirements.
• Ability to work across multiple product categories, brands, and teams while adapting to changing priorities.
• Commercial awareness, resilience, curiosity, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence influencing cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Ability to work regularly from the London and Market Harborough offices.

Nice to have

• Experience with accessories such as bags, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, or sunglasses.
