Quality Specialist - ROW (Consumables)

What you will do

• Coordinate quality release for dietary supplements and pet consumables across an assigned supplier portfolio.
• Review COAs, microbiological reports, raw material and finished-product results, batch records, specifications, labels, and packaging documentation.
• Assess contamination risks, including yeast and mold, Salmonella, E. coli, coliforms, and other product-specific hazards.
• Arrange and evaluate third-party inspections covering hygiene, allergen controls, storage, traceability, process discipline, and documentation.
• Define product- and supplier-specific release criteria, including laboratory review, formulation confirmation, label checks, and traceability controls.
• Track supplier corrective actions, maintain audit-ready records, and support product holds, complaints, recalls, and quality audits.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or supplier quality within food, beverage, dietary supplement, nutraceutical, pet food, or comparable consumable manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or an equivalent food safety management framework.
• Ability to critically assess COAs, microbiological reports, batch records, specification sheets, and release evidence.
• Familiarity with microbiological testing parameters and specification limits in consumable products.
• Experience working with third-party inspection, audit, or laboratory partners.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required for internal reporting and supplier correspondence.

Nice to have

• Experience with dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, pet consumables, or EU and UK market requirements.
• Experience with manufacturers or exporters in South America.
• Working Spanish or Portuguese.
• Familiarity with SQF, BRCGS, or FSSC 22000 certification schemes.
• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Veterinary Science, Nutrition, or a related technical field.
