MEP Construction Field Engineer (Industrial Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support brownfield facility rehabilitation, modernization, and installation of new MEP utility systems.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent, design team, general contractor, trade contractors, equipment vendors, commissioning personnel, and manufacturing stakeholders.
• Track MEP milestones, installed quantities, contractor progress, look-ahead plans, and construction schedule risks.
• Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, coordination drawings, and technical documentation for constructability and schedule impact.
• Verify installations against drawings, specifications, approved changes, codes, quality requirements, and safety documentation.
• Support inspections, equipment startup, functional testing, commissioning, punch lists, corrective actions, and turnover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent industrial construction experience may be considered.
• 3–5+ years of MEP construction experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with existing or brownfield industrial facilities and coordination of multiple MEP trades.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical and mechanical systems, including the ability to interpret one-lines, P&IDs, mechanical plans, equipment schedules, specifications, shop drawings, and control diagrams.
• Experience with RFIs, submittals, installed-quantity tracking, quality control, inspection, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorization.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of industrial or manufacturing construction experience, including modernization of large existing manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with medium-voltage distribution, substations, switchgear, MCCs, industrial HVAC, compressed air, process utilities, fire protection, controls, and manufacturing equipment installations.
• Experience with shutdowns, outages, tie-ins, startup, commissioning, OEM vendors, and returning existing MEP equipment to service.
• Background in defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, automotive, heavy manufacturing, or similarly complex industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, mechanical and plumbing codes, and industrial construction standards.
