TL;DR
Associate Construction Engineer (Power Infrastructure): Supporting field execution of large-scale power generation projects for AI data center infrastructure with an accent on site coordination, inspections, technical documentation, and commissioning. Focus on reviewing construction plans and submittals, tracking schedules and punch lists, inspecting mechanical and electrical systems, and supporting startup activities across active construction sites.

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; on-site with extended site assignments and resident assignment during construction and commissioning

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

  • Support field engineering, inspections, documentation, and construction coordination on large-scale power generation projects.
  • Review contractor and vendor submittals, RFIs, Field Engineering Directives, execution plans, and commissioning procedures.
  • Track construction milestones, schedules, open items, punch lists, and change orders.
  • Inspect workmanship and compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Support mechanical completion, system turnover, commissioning, startup, functional testing, loop checks, and performance verification.
  • Maintain daily field reports, inspection records, as-built redlines, permits, and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of field engineering, construction management, or inspection experience on power generation, oil and gas, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical construction, concrete foundations, structural steel, piping, electrical power systems, and power generation equipment.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70, ASME B31.1/B31.3/B31.8, NEC, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling software, plus strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform extended site assignments, weekly travel to remote project sites, outdoor construction work, climbing, traversing uneven terrain, lifting up to 40 lbs, and mandatory participation in drug, alcohol, safety, and background-check programs.

Nice to have

  • Engineer-in-Training certification or active pursuit of FE/PE licensure.
  • Experience with data center power infrastructure or modular substation execution.
