Mechanical Engineer (Energy Infrastructure)

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design of building HVAC and district energy systems.
• Develop decarbonization and electrification projects from feasibility studies through design and construction.
• Conduct field investigations and document existing building conditions.
• Perform equipment selection and engineering calculations.
• Develop and review drawings and project documentation with junior engineers, providing mentorship.
• Analyze design options and cost-benefit comparisons, communicate results to clients, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Well-rounded experience with HVAC and hydronic system design.
• Experience with Revit or AutoCAD.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• New York State Professional Engineer’s license is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience designing geothermal or district energy systems.
• New York State Professional Engineer’s license.
