Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Newport Beach, California, USA; hybrid work schedule

Salary: $95,000–$130,000 annual base salary, based on experience; paid overtime and discretionary year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Design HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for hospitals, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
• Consult with architectural practices on mechanical system design.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, electrical, fire protection, and other engineering disciplines.
• Develop accurate, coordinated designs and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
• Work independently, as a team member, and as a team leader while managing priorities and client needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license in Mechanical Engineering.
• Familiarity with mechanical, energy, and plumbing codes.
• Experience with both HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Experience with energy modeling software such as EnergyPro.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe InDesign.
