TL;DR
Hardware Engineer (Semiconductor Test) (Analog/Mixed-Signal Instrumentation): Develop, test, debug, and support semiconductor test and measurement systems with an accent on precision analog circuits, mixed-signal design, board bring-up, and validation. Focus on solving complex hardware failures, designing low-noise measurement front ends and power supplies, and integrating reliable instrumentation with FPGA, software, manufacturing, and applications teams.

Location: Chandler, Arizona, USA; in-person. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $80,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

  • Perform board bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, repair, and failure analysis for prototype and production hardware.
  • Design precision analog and mixed-signal circuits for semiconductor test and measurement systems.
  • Develop and support SMU, PMU, CMU, Pulse-IV, high-voltage, low-noise, and low-leakage measurement circuitry.
  • Design ADC/DAC circuits, AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, and instrument power delivery systems.
  • Support system integration, calibration, reliability testing, performance characterization, engineering builds, and manufacturing test.
  • Collaborate with FPGA, software, manufacturing, and applications teams to resolve hardware and system-level issues and improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in hardware design, validation, testing, debugging, repair, board bring-up, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal circuit design, semiconductor devices, and electrical measurement techniques.
  • Experience designing AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies and using DMMs, SMUs, power supplies, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with semiconductor test equipment, ATE platforms, wafer test systems, or precision instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of low-current measurement, Kelvin sensing, guarding, and low-leakage design techniques.
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based systems, instrument control architectures, and calibration or reliability testing.
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Altium Designer, PADS, LTspice, or PSpice.
