Procurement & Outsourcing Manager (Biotech)

Location: Hybrid in Stamford, Connecticut, United States; minimum two on-site days per week, currently Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional on-site attendance may be required based on business needs.

Salary: $102,000–$133,000 USD annually, with a discretionary annual bonus and potential long-term incentive award.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end RFI, RFP, and RFQ sourcing events for CRO, laboratory, and professional services categories.
• Negotiate master service agreements, statements of work, pricing terms, and investigative site contracts with Legal and Clinical stakeholders.
• Develop vendor qualification processes, performance scorecards, risk assessments, onboarding, and compliance monitoring.
• Partner with R&D, Clinical, Tech Ops, Legal, Finance, and other functions to translate business needs into sourcing strategies.
• Track category spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report delivered savings and value against annual targets.
• Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, and contract repository data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience, ideally in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or a CRO-facing environment.
• Experience with procurement or contract management systems such as Coupa, Ariba, or SAP.
• Strong Excel-based spend analysis, benchmarking, reporting, negotiation, and vendor relationship management skills.
• Working knowledge of contract terms, indemnification, risk allocation, category management, and strategic sourcing.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, present sourcing recommendations, and coordinate alignment across business owners, Legal, and Finance.
