Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Java)

Location: California-based applicants

Salary: $135,100–$168,900 annually for California-based applicants, with potential annual performance bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Design and develop backend product software from requirements analysis through production.
• Improve software quality by evaluating and adopting libraries, tools, and technologies.
• Contribute to daily development and participate in code reviews.
• Develop simple and robust solutions for complex technical problems.
• Collaborate in an agile environment focused on innovation, teamwork, and creativity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience with microservices and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Cloud knowledge with Azure or AWS.
• Expertise with Git workflows and a basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• BA or BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes experience, preferably with EKS.
• Knowledge of Kafka or another event streaming platform.
• Experience building Charging Station Management Systems.
• Knowledge of OCPP and OCPI charging protocols.
