Building Engineer II (HVAC/BAS)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; 100% in-office during standard business hours. Remote work is not available.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and independently repair HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, equipment documentation, and deficiency reporting.
• Manage service contractors during routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and recovery efforts.
• Respond to urgent tenant service requests and participate in on-call rotations during system outages and severe weather.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, property managers, and senior engineers to ensure reliable building operations.
• Develop advanced proficiency with building automation systems and support junior technicians through guidance and technical development.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of job-related experience or equivalent certification/trade experience.
• Required engineering and trade licenses in accordance with applicable local, state, or national requirements.
• Advanced HVAC and building automation systems proficiency; familiarity with fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and digital work order, email, and training applications.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
