Building Engineer

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems, equipment, vehicles, grounds, and industrial systems.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems to verify safe and effective operation.
• Provide concierge-style service to tenants, internal teams, and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, governmental requirements, safety standards, and company directives.
• Perform or coordinate contract work such as landscaping, snow removal, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.
• Use manual and power tools while maintaining the appearance and functionality of the property.

Requirements

• Three years of experience in commercial building operations, property management, or a related industry preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
• High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma required.
• EPA Universal Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to read plans and prints, use industry-standard diagnostic tools, and present information clearly.
• Reliable transportation, ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and access roofs, crawl spaces, and other confined areas.

Nice to have

• Experience with energy-saving and sustainability measures.
• Knowledge of applicable city or government licenses and permits, such as boiler operating permits or state maintenance electrician licenses.
