Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, or Littleton, Colorado; fully remote candidates in the United States may be considered with travel to Austin for approximately one week every other month, up to six weeks annually.

What you will do

• Lead CI/CD, build tooling, simulation environments, and cloud infrastructure for Vision Navigation System and Guidance, Navigation & Control software.
• Develop unified packaging, release management, testing, and deployment workflows across firmware, spacecraft software, ground systems, and cloud services.
• Optimize build systems, shared testing pipelines, and developer workflows to improve reliability, reproducibility, and engineering velocity.
• Design storage, versioning, distribution, and processing pipelines for imagery, simulation data, maps, and machine learning datasets.
• Support ML training infrastructure, including compute provisioning, dataset management, and experiment reproducibility.
• Partner with perception, GNC, avionics, flight software, systems engineering, and mission operations teams while mentoring engineers and resolving complex infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant DevOps, build/release engineering, or cloud infrastructure experience.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, build systems, release management, automated testing, and reproducible multi-team development environments.
• Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, including infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
• Linux development and debugging experience with strong scripting and automation skills in Python or similar languages.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded or firmware DevOps, cross-compilation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, ML infrastructure, dataset versioning, or experiment tracking.
• Familiarity with CMake, Bazel, large C++ codebases, aerospace or defense software, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or mission-critical systems.
• Experience with computer vision, visual navigation, state estimation, perception pipelines, telemetry, commanding, or mission operations.
