Sr DevOps Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Southern Pines, North Carolina, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize scalable CI/CD pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management for consistent delivery environments.
• Standardize deployment and release workflows to support varied product and customer requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance, reliability, and security of distributed systems and complex integrations.
• Collaborate with development, QA, product, security, and operations teams on deployment strategies and operational best practices.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers, conduct code and process reviews, and drive continuous improvement and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; 12 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps or a related role.
• Software development experience with an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, or Go.
• Experience with microservices, containerized and cloud-native application development, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, managed Kubernetes services, AKS, and EKS.
• Experience with multiple cloud vendors, GitHub, on-premises Azure DevOps, Linux, release engineering, CI/CD, and Agile Scrum or Kanban practices.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field and aerospace or defense industry experience.
• AWS or Azure architecture certifications, RHCSA, CKAD, CKA, or Red Hat container and Kubernetes certification.
• Advanced Ansible experience, including playbook development and maintenance.
• Experience coordinating release readiness and configuration control activities.
