Chief Information & AI Officer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, working from offices in San Diego, California; Atlanta, Georgia; or Orlando, Florida

Salary: $290,000–$375,000 base salary per year, plus potential bonus, equity, 401(k) match, and health and welfare benefits.

What you will do

• Set and execute the enterprise technology and AI strategy, aligning investments with business outcomes.
• Build and lead an AI Center of Excellence with shared standards, tooling, and playbooks.
• Prioritize AI use cases through a risk-tiered framework covering automation, human oversight, and human judgment.
• Establish governance for model risk, data protection, quality assurance, fair lending, regulatory compliance, explainability, and auditability.
• Own infrastructure, security, resilience, AI platforms, technology budgets, and performance reporting.
• Coach and develop a distributed organization spanning software engineering, data science, AI, and IT.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of technology experience, including hands-on AI/ML or data science exposure, and at least 5 years of people leadership.
• Experience owning budgets, business planning, and enterprise technology delivery.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, mobile applications, generative AI, and their use in financial services and lending.
• Experience with AI governance, model risk management, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and fair-lending regulations such as ECOA and Regulation B.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from the San Diego, Atlanta, or Orlando office.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in AI/ML.
• Experience building and scaling cross-functional, distributed technology organizations.
