Project Manager (Multiple Opportunities)

Location: Columbus, OH or Dallas, TX; on-site work at offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, and construction sites across AEP locations. Travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible for specific assignments.

Salary: $136,539–$177,503 per year.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, supervise, and close complex utility, construction, outage, and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost reallocations, reporting, and financial performance.
• Lead project meetings, stakeholder presentations, status communications, and customer-satisfaction activities.
• Manage procurement and outside-service contracts, including requests for proposals, bid evaluation, negotiations, vendor selection, and performance oversight.
• Lead and develop project staff, mentor project managers, delegate work, and hold employees and contractors accountable for safety and delivery.
• Represent AEP with customers, vendors, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and operating-company partners.

Requirements

• On-site work is required at AEP offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, and construction sites; light physical duties and hazardous-site conditions may apply.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related field with 7 years of qualified experience; alternative education and experience combinations are accepted.
• Qualified experience must include project management, construction, estimating, project controls, project engineering, or comparable competitive production-environment experience.
• PMP certification is required unless formally waived by the appropriate senior executive.
• Demonstrated expertise in construction safety, scope and cost control, estimating, contracting, procurement, quality, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder leadership.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to travel as assigned.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Senior Project Manager or demonstrated readiness for the role through achieved results.
• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems.
• Experience applying Agile and Waterfall project management methods.
