TL;DR
Flight TIG Welder (Aerospace) (GTAW, aerospace alloys): Fabricating, assembling, and welding flight-critical fluid systems and launch vehicle components with an accent on precision tube fabrication, engineering drawings, and aerospace quality standards. Focus on passing AWS D17.1 weld tests, inspecting hardware, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining safe FOD-controlled production areas.
Location: Onsite role associated with 's north Austin, Texas operations. Applicants must meet U.S. Government ITAR export-compliance eligibility requirements.

What you will do
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding and fabrication operations.
- Cut, trim, fit, align, tack-weld, and assemble tubing and precision metal components.
- Set up and operate GTAW equipment for flight-critical fluid systems and launch vehicle hardware.
- Inspect completed welds, document work, create non-conformance reports, and support drawing redlines.
- Maintain a clean, FOD-controlled workspace and follow aerospace handling and safety procedures.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to resolve fit, quality, and documentation issues.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on TIG/GTAW welding experience on tube, pipe, or precision assemblies.
- Experience with tube and pipe cutting, facing, precision fit-up, and assembly.
- Experience welding aerospace alloys, including stainless steel and Inconel.
- Ability to use calipers, height gauges, scales, micrometers, and depth gauges to maintain tight tolerances.
- Ability to interpret and execute work from engineering drawings, plus basic computer proficiency.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. export authorizations under ITAR.
Nice to have
- 3–5+ years of TIG welding experience in aerospace, aviation, or high-specification manufacturing.
- Experience with borescope inspection and restricted-access weld geometries.
- Multi-position welding certifications and radiographic acceptance experience.
- Accredited welding certification and familiarity with AWS D17.1 standards.
