TL;DR
Field Welder (Nuclear Energy): Performing precision welding, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and field support for factory-fabricated microreactor projects with an accent on stainless steel and carbon steel welding, approved procedures, and engineering drawings. Focus on traveling to project and vendor locations, supporting equipment installation and testing, operating qualified field equipment, and adapting across multiple field disciplines.

Location: Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site in Austin, TX. The role requires travel to company facilities, project sites, vendor locations, and other work locations.

What you will do

  • Perform precision welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and other materials using qualified processes and approved procedures.
  • Complete welding, fabrication, repair, fit-up, installation, and maintenance activities based on engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Travel to project sites, company facilities, and vendor locations to support Field Operations.
  • Inspect completed work for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and procedural compliance.
  • Support equipment installation, assembly, testing, material movement, field-area setup, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Operate heavy machinery, material-handling equipment, power tools, and field-support equipment when trained and assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work on-site in Austin, Texas.
  • Demonstrated or developing proficiency in GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, stainless steel welding, and carbon steel welding.
  • Ability to read fabrication prints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, procedures, and technical work instructions.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and a safety-conscious approach.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships under 10 CFR Part 810.
