Welding Technician - 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Buffalo, NY / Elma, New York; 2nd shift.

Salary: $25.00–$31.00 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift employees.

What you will do

• Operate electron beam welding equipment for production and prototype parts.
• Set up, adjust, monitor, and maintain welding equipment, including vacuum chambers and electron guns.
• Interpret welding schedules and worksheets to determine voltage, amperage, travel distance, geometry, and other process parameters.
• Install fixtures, create weld samples, and inspect weld quality using microscopes, drop gauges, and indicators.
• Perform electronic and mechanical equipment modifications and determine operating requirements when detailed instructions are unavailable.
• Use CNC programming and mathematics, including trigonometry, for complex welding setups and report unusual conditions or results.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of related technical experience, including production or engineering welding.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or demonstrated ability to follow verbal, written, and computer-based instructions.
• Ability to understand and apply work instructions or training in English is required.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic; experience with welding equipment, materials, inspection, and complex welds.
• Participation in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required because the role is safety-sensitive.
• The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
