TL;DR
Combustion Devices Intern (Aerospace): Supporting the design, analysis, and testing of combustion devices and related structures and components with an accent on GD&T drafting, data processing, and propulsion hardware. Focus on applying engineering concepts to real aerospace challenges, testing components and engines, and collaborating across teams in a fast-paced onsite environment.
Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning January, February, or March 2027.
Salary: $28 USD per hour

What you will do
- Support the design, analysis, and testing of combustion devices, structures, and components.
- Contribute to GD&T drafting, data processing, and testing activities.
- Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real challenges with a fast-paced engineering group.
- Collaborate with mentors, supervisors, and department employees while providing progress updates.
- Participate in technical talks and professional networking events with interns and employees.
Requirements
- Must be able to work full-time onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks.
- For U.S. office roles, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, qualifying refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, work in ambiguity, and lead development projects with limited supervision.
Nice to have
- GPA of 3.5 or above and at least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
- CAD/CAM, GD&T drafting, FEA, or 3D printing experience.
- Experience with ANSYS, MATLAB, or Siemens NX.
- Propulsion experience.
