Sr. Data & Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Minneapolis, United States; frequent paid travel to the Minneapolis headquarters is required for company events, team events, and in-person collaboration.

Salary: $90,000–$132,000 annually, inclusive of a 20% bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of robust software and data solutions.
• Build automation focused on application and system stability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Partner with Product Managers, business users, clients, and other stakeholders to gather goals and translate them into technical requirements.
• Create software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical documentation, manuals, and recommendations.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, troubleshooting, project direction, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior team members and champion responsible AI-assisted development practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant data and software engineering development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, command-line tools, and ETL/ELT pipelines for large datasets, including AI and analytics use cases.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern AI concepts and tools, including GCP, AWS, AI/ML APIs, vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval.
• Strong communication and attention-to-detail skills, with experience sharing knowledge and mentoring junior engineers.
• Experience working directly with business users and clients to understand goals and gather requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile, iterative development, SAFe, or similar scaled frameworks.
• Experience with OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain, or similar AI/ML frameworks and APIs.
• Experience with BigQuery, Databricks, data warehouses, APIs, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience building production or near-production tools, agents, or workflows that orchestrate LLM calls.
• Experience with marketing, analytics, customer data, data architecture, and cloud data pipeline deployment.
