Sr. Manager, Data Platform Engineering & Operations (AWS)

Location: Remote in the United States, with the role based in Goleta, California

Salary: $205,171–$233,700 per year

What you will do

• Lead platform engineering, operations, reliability, supportability, and scalability for data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and microservice architectures using AWS, Python, SQL, and dbt.
• Define technical stacks, implementation strategies, operational practices, roadmaps, and team development priorities.
• Manage production support, SLAs, on-call rotations, incident escalations, monitoring, observability, and automation.
• Drive cloud cost optimization, infrastructure efficiency, performance tuning, and continuous improvement of data workflows.
• Lead global teams, cross-functional incident response, root-cause analysis, hiring, and team development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 6 years of progressive experience.
• At least 2 years of experience leading technical teams.
• Experience with data operations, data engineering, data analyst work, production support, and ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Experience with SQL, Python, data engineering frameworks including dbt, monitoring, observability, and operational analytics.
• Experience with security, compliance, access control, incident response, RCA documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for this remote role.
