Software Engineering Lead Data Engineer (Snowflake/dbt)

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment with remote and onsite work.

Base salary: $110,000–$158,500 per year, plus eligibility for an incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, validation, delivery, and warehouse pipelines.
• Develop and maintain dbt data models in Snowflake using modular, scalable design patterns and enterprise data standards.
• Create technical architecture documentation, unit tests, monitoring, and operational controls for data engineering solutions.
• Partner with platform, data, and integration architects to evolve the unified investment data platform and integrate engineering tools.
• Troubleshoot complex system interactions, improve data quality and resiliency, and support unexpected outages.
• Apply AI-assisted development, automation, and intelligent engineering tools to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5–6+ years of experience designing and developing complex data-oriented applications, including 2–4+ years of advanced SQL experience.
• Several years of hands-on experience with dbt, dbt transformation workflows, data modeling, ETL/ELT, data warehouses, and analytics architecture.
• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-native databases and cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS.
• Understanding of Agile SDLC, DevOps, unified data management, data mesh, event-driven architecture, real-time data flows, and data virtualization.
• Applicants must currently be authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in asset management, investment data, multi-asset platforms, financial instruments, transactions, and positions.
• Certifications in Snowflake, dbt, cloud data engineering, data warehousing, or financial markets.
• Interest in emerging AI technologies and experience applying AI-assisted development or automation to engineering and analytics workflows.
