Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) | Information Security

Location: South Burlington, Vermont, United States; remote and occasional on-site work may be required.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain information security protocols for critical information systems.
• Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, audits, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other relevant security frameworks.
• Manage system accreditation, authorization, security documentation, and incident response.
• Create and manage user accounts, access controls, permissions, and access logs.
• Perform system patching, configuration, backups, recovery operations, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.

Requirements

• Active Secret-level security clearance.
• 3–5 years of information systems security and administration experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and system administration.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to respond quickly to urgent security and operational matters.

Nice to have

• CMMC, DoD, or government security experience.
• CISSP, Security+, or other information security certifications.
• Experience with enterprise system management, risk management frameworks, security architecture, scripting, and automation.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud technologies, patching, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring.
