TL;DR
Journeyman Cybersecurity Analyst (RMF/NIST): Maintaining cybersecurity posture for U.S. Coast Guard enterprise systems through RMF documentation, vulnerability remediation, compliance monitoring, and ATO support with an accent on IA/ISSO artifacts, POA&M management, and security control implementation. Focus on analyzing Nessus/ACAS scans, STIG and SCAP results, resolving compliance findings, and reporting system risk posture to leadership and authorization authorities.

Location: Alexandria, Virginia, United States; hybrid position

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

  • Develop, update, and maintain Risk Management Framework documentation, including System Security Plans and Security Assessment Reports.
  • Track, prioritize, and manage vulnerability tickets and Plan of Action and Milestones items through remediation and closure.
  • Coordinate with system owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to implement security controls and resolve security findings.
  • Monitor compliance metrics using automated vulnerability scanners and configuration management tools.
  • Review Nessus/ACAS scans, STIG checklists, SCAP results, audit logs, and security alerts to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
  • Support continuous monitoring and Authorization to Operate status while preparing technical reports and leadership briefings.

Requirements

  • 6–9 years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent commensurate experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE or CySA+.
  • Hands-on experience with federal Information Assurance/Information System Security Officer artifacts and the NIST SP 800-37 RMF pipeline.
  • Experience tracking vulnerability tickets, managing POA&Ms, and driving technical remediation schedules.
  • Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting the U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security identity management programs.
  • Familiarity with eMASS or Archer.
  • Experience interpreting ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans and applying DISA STIGs.
