Systems Engineer - Surveillance (Evergreen)

Location: On-site in Phoenix, Arizona or Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States

Designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems for safety-critical commercial and military aviation, including TCAS, Mode S transponders, ADS-B, and integrated surveillance solutions.

What you will do

• Develop system architectures and designs that satisfy customer, product, and regulatory requirements.
• Author and maintain system requirements, specifications, models, and technical documentation.
• Develop, execute, and document system-level test procedures and automated test scripts.
• Analyze verification results, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support flight-test preparation, execution, data collection, and post-flight analysis.
• Coordinate integration, testing, certification, troubleshooting, and product sustainment with software, hardware, program, customer, and supplier teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 4–9 years of directly related professional experience, preferably in avionics.
• Experience writing system requirements and developing and executing system validation and test procedures.
• Knowledge of ARP-4754A and DO-178 processes.
• Experience with avionics products and applications including XPDR, TCAS, TAWS, ADS-B Out, or ADS-B In.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple engineering functions, customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with systems engineering, MATLAB, Simulink, or Python.
• Experience with C or C++.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, initiative, conflict-resolution, and consensus-building skills.
