Avionics Test Engineer

What you will do

• Develop and execute test plans for components, subassemblies, circuit cards, and integrated systems.
• Design and build test fixtures, hardware-in-the-loop environments, automated test rigs, and test stations.
• Validate electrical, digital, mechanical, RF, and power hardware performance with precise instrumentation and data logging.
• Lead failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and feedback of test results into hardware design cycles.
• Drive thermal, vibration, EMI, qualification, and environmental test campaigns.
• Deploy and validate automated test equipment for boards and subsystems while collaborating with electrical, controls, software, and mechanical engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Senior-level experience testing high-power subsystems, high-speed digital interfaces, actuators, or RF hardware.
• Hands-on experience developing automated test equipment with oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, switch matrices, network analyzers, and similar instruments.
• Familiarity with CAN, RS-422/485, SPI, Ethernet, embedded control systems, instrumentation control, and data acquisition.
• Experience with Python, C++, protobufs, scripting, and the ability to lead cross-functional test integration independently.
• Access to export-controlled information may require U.S. government authorization, security clearance, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• RF testing or radar architecture experience.
• Experience with SCPI, VISA, PyVISA, test automation software, dashboards, data analysis scripts, or databases.
• Experience with environmental or RF chambers, environmental stress screening, fault injection, failure-mode testing, or reliability qualification.
• Experience supporting flight tests or launch operations and debugging embedded systems.
