Spacecraft Electronics Systems Engineer II (Avionics)

Salary: $119,543–$152,749 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Define project scopes and system requirements with cross-functional engineering teams, guiding avionics designs from concept through production.
• Develop electrical architectures, system diagrams, and resource budgets covering power, telemetry, channel count, size, and mass.
• Analyze system faults and risks, develop mitigation plans, and support FDIR or operational workarounds.
• Plan and execute verification activities for flight and HITL hardware supporting launch, space operations, and hypersonic reentry.
• Integrate spacecraft avionics, investigate system-level issues, and participate in mission operations as an avionics specialist or system operator.
• Build and operate HITL testbeds and ground infrastructure while improving test automation and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python programming and debugging.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4–20 mA devices, and general test equipment.
• Experience with vehicle electrical systems, HITL testbeds, configuration control, or system-level testing is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Experience taking vehicle electrical systems from concept to operational production.
• Unix and command-line experience.
• Experience developing test cases and equipment for vehicle operating conditions.
• Project or program management skills.
